The first section here is the dwelling place of that elusive beast, the ‘perfect’ stealthy pink lipstick. Also known as the MLBB lipstick, the lipstick you can rely on when you need to look done but not too done (ifyaknowwhatimean), and the lipstick that was probably one of the first colours your parents ever let you wear, and maybe you resented it for a while, but now you’ve come back around and sleep with one under your pillow at night because it’s your best friend on a long quest…

First up is a little picture swatch guide I put together of some of my favourite stealthy, MLBB or otherwise inoffensive pink lispticks! As you can see, next to each other, the ‘MLBB’ genus covers many species of pink lipstick – from ‘nudey baby pink’ to ‘sheer hot pink’ to ‘kinda orchidy, I guess?’ and beyond…

“Warm Me Up” Maybelline Color Sensation- a light/medium mauve-pink, a good neutral.

“My Pink” Clarins Lip Balm Crayon- one of those color changing formulas based on your own body chemistry (or heat, or??) On me a bright, shiny rosy pink.

Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in “Erin” (Yeah, I know, it’s my name my an absolute knock out, too) high gloss mauvy light pink.

Stila Lip Glaze in “Fig” a beautiful, medium mauvy pink.
