Quest for the Emerald Empire: the Search for a Perfect Green

Greetings from the deck of an astral warship, my fellow rogues!

I spent quite a bit of time this weekend with a new group of adventurers, sailing the astral seas in search of glittering green glory! What can I say, my rogueish expertise is much sought after, and I was invited along on the expedition to provide my matchless trap-disarming, treasure sensing, lock picking and witticism delivering skills.

I enjoyed myself immensely, and since green isn’t really a colour we see much of around here (unless it’s gelatinous gube related, sadly) I thought I would share the spoils of our victory with you and profile some od the glorious green goodies. Also alliteration. 😀 Since I was guest questing, I didn’t get to keep any of the green gems themselves, so this is also a wishlist! I was rewarded with gold, XP, and that warm fuzzy feeling you get from helping out a friend 🙂

 

Crit happens. Usually when you don’t need it to, but perhaps the chances will be better with gorgeous green dice!

On with the glorious green!

I. Lips

 

Emerald enhancement for the lips. Pigments are featured because I am now obsessed with the idea of making my own lipstick.

 

1. Illamasqua Lipstick in Apocalips

This rogue went green with envy when the party pulled this out of the astral sea – I’ve been lusting after this lipstick for quite some time now (along with a whole pile of things from the Illamasqua line)!

2. Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Violate

Unsettling name, fabulous lipgloss. I just want to wear Apocalips with this over the top for ALL THE GREEN.

3. M.A.C Pigment in Emerald Green

I’ve recently become a bit obsessed with the idea of making my own lipstick out of pigments/ eyeshadows and lip balm (thanks to Melissa’s genius in our recent collaboration!), so I’ve included a couple of M.A.C. pigments here that I think might be intriguing to work with. If you can’t access M.A.C., there are many things growing in dungeons that you can  probably try grinding up, but your mileage may vary in terms of unwanted side effects like curses and/or face-melting.

4. M.A.C Pigment in Teal

Ditto the above, but for a more blue-based green option. I know perfectly well that teal is its own colour, but I usually see it more as a green than a blue.

 

II. Nails

 

Glorious green for tips! Honestly, there were about 549678 polishes I could have included here, so I decided to stick with one brand, since Butter London had so many good, permanent green shades!

 

5. Butter London British Racing Green

British Racing Green has always been a favourite cart colour of mine – I know I’ll try to get something that line if we’re hiring one to take us and our loot back to town. The paladin prefers bright red with racing stripes, but he’s having a bit of a mid-life crisis at the moment…

6. Butter London Henley Regatta

No post is truly complete without some outright glitter in it somewhere.

7. Butter London Jack the Lad

I love the multidimensional colour in this green. It reminds me of some of the more complex gems we’ve brought back out of various dungeons and hoards over the years, and a couple of particularly lovely giant geodes that we had to climb our way through. Ah, good times…

 

III. Eyes

 

Glittering green for eyes! Once again, there are many lovely green eyeshadows and pigments out there. I decided to stick with a brand I already love (UD) and one I’m keen to try (Sugarpill). Fyrinnae, your website was broken when I was putting this together, so you missed out

 

8. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Junkie

These eye pencils are fantastic. This colour is a particularl lovely one. I almost managed to slip this into a pocket, but my conscience overcame my greed. Being a rogue is tough, you know? 😉

9. Sugarpill Loose Eyeshadow in Junebug

I’m really interested in trying Sugarpill stuff at some point, and this loose shadow is on the list! Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any in the adventure postings at the moment (i.e. it’s sold out), but I’m sure someone will locate a new dungeon with some in soon!

10. Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Subterranean

How ridiculously appropriate is the name of this eyeshadow? And how gorgeous is the colour?

11. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Clinic

Every time I see a swatch of this, my face twitches and my fingers itch to get it IMMEDIATELY. I was thrilled to see it pop up on this adventure, and hopefully I’ll get the chance to go after a gorgeous stick-shaped emerald of this for my own, soon!

12. Urban Decay Pressed Eyeshadow in Loaded

I love Urban Decay eyeshadows, This is not really a secret (I can *hear* the Bard rolling her eyes right now). However, I do not yet posess this lovely deep green. It came to us, actually – washed right onboard during a rough moment in the journey, matching the colour of the ranger’s face at that moment perfectly!

 

13. One Last Thing… The astral sea is a beautiful sight, adventurers! Illamasqua’s nail polish in Perseid captures it perfectly 🙂

 

A nail polish that manages to perfectly capture the astral sea on a calm day. I just want to dive right in!
