The Heroes of this Rogue’s Zero

Greetings, my fellow Rogues!

This is going to be a short, special edition post, in honour of friendship, community and the ZerotoHero challenge currently being run through WordPress.

Today’s challenge was all about community – getting out there and creating links with other bloggers, sampling other types of blog and ways of thinking, and hopefully making some friends! Seasoned rogues will know this to be similar to the first time you turn up to answer a quest call – there are lots of people putting themselves forward to be seen and heard; for a variety of reasons, with a variety of weapons, and from a variety of backgrounds. If you’re lucky, and you’re open to meeting a few new people, (and you don’t accidentally tread on too many beards), there are wonderful questing buddies to be found.

A good community supports each other! :-)

Before I started blogging myself, I was already reading a large number of blogs from a couple of different disciplines – these are listed under the ‘Adventure Board’ Page, and I strongly encourage you to check out the fantastic bloggers, vloggers and YouTube channels listed there.

However, nothing prepared me, when I stumbled out into the internet, for the wonderful people who found me all on their own, made lovely comments, and struck up an acquaintance. Without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to two of these questing buddies,Β  Sonya and Karen:

Sonya of FashionFragile, a noble warrior dedicated to the twin causes of ethical window-shopping and looking fabulous while doing it. Combining an eclectic and imaginative sense of style with an enviable posting rate, Sonya has you covered. No matter what assortment of interesting robes, accessories and objects you acquire on any dungeon raid, Sonya will show you how to turn them into a stylish wardrobe. Run, do not walk, to check out her blog.

Sonya of Fashion Fragile. I may have totally stolen this picture from her blog, so you can all see just a small sample of how magnificent it is. Go there now!

Karen of Unpack the Box, an agile ranger who has dedicated herself and her amazing treasure sense power to unpacking every box there is. If ever there was a classic motivation for questing, opening chests to see what sort of loot is inside would have to be one of them. Did you know there is a special type of chest for mens’ ties, or one for college students in dorms, or one full of handmade treasures from indie craftspeople? No? This must be because you haven’t visited Karen’s blog yet! If you ever wondered what a certain subscription box was like, or if you just like watching people examine the contents of mystery chests of loot, Karen has the blog for you.

Karen & friends from Unpack the Box. Once again, I have unashamedly stolen this picture from Karen’s blog, which is why you should immediately click it and visit her to make up for this rogue’s terrible larceny…!

Thank you ladies for stopping by and extending the hand of friendship to a rogue new to the blogging scene.Β  You are the meaning of community πŸ™‚

To everyone reading this blog post, I welcome you to stop and chat a while, have a look around and strike up a conversation. We didn’t get into this quest just to shout into a void, now, did we?

Until next time, don’t forget to check for awesome blogs (OK, and traps),

Syl

  1. This is such an incredibly sweet surprise! I feel all warm and fuzzy, like the matryoshka family ❀ Also now I'm gonna look at Unpack the Box! I don't know why I love reading about subscription boxes since I don't get any, but it's so weirdly fun.

    • I know, right? It’s like watching people unwrap presents or open Kinder Surprise eggs πŸ™‚

You’re welcome – I felt all warm and fuzzy when you guys just came out of nowhere and made friends ^_^ There needs to be more of that in the world, I think!
