  1. Hi Sylirael, just followed your blog. Didn’t know you were a fellow kiwi 🙂 Thought you were from Aussie when you mention fellow neighbour @ Temptalia. This is great, a blogger who understands how I feel. Does it seem like everywhere else in the world seem to have brands which we want so badly here?

    • Hi Audrey! Welcome to the Painted Rogue! 😀 I am indeed a Kiwi 🙂 We do have rather a lack of brands here, especially decent ‘affordable’ ones… have you tried stuff like YouShop? It doesn’t work for many things(unless you have a US credit card), but it works for UD (and I think Nyx?) I also discovered the other day that Sleek has really great international shipping, and there’s always ASOS for some things! 😀 I wish more brands would come here, but I’m afraid they’ll just succumb to the same temptation MAC (and others) did and jack up their prices enormously… :-S

      • I do have a YouShop account but haven’t tried it out yet. So far, I’ve been purchasing from Strawberrynet, Fishpond, Beauty Bliss and Makeup.co.nz. Of course, I always want what we can’t get here 😉 Even if we have the brand here in NZ, we don’t necessary have the colors which Christine from Temptalia so tempt us with her A+ 😀 I was surprised that MAC has Playland out already 🙂 Anyway, I love your sense of humour. I find that lately, I’ve been scrolling down @ Temptalia’s just to read your post 😀 Do try and review more on what we can get here, if you can. We may have some winners, just not known to the world yet 😉

      • Haha, will do 🙂 I’ve been meaning to try some of the Karen Murrell lipsticks, actually…

I’m glad my charisma stat is high with people! 😉

      • Karen Murrell Lipsticks were one of my first cosmetic purchases, if you don’t count Burst’s Bees Lip Shimmer. I like its cinnamon fragrance, more than YSL, Rimmel and Antipodes (which tastes like it’s gone off from new, not sure if it’s meant to be). I was happy to just own Karen Murrell’s lipsticks until I started reading about all these A+ lipsticks…now I’m just curious 😀

      • Me too, for Bite…I was clapping my hands when I found that there’s a couple of NZ websites selling Bite…spent days researching on what colour, Mulberry was going to be it but I read more posts on these early days Bites being prone to feathering/bleeding. As usual, We probably have to wait indefinitely for the Deconstructed Rose ones to sail to this end of the world. Lipstick Queen, didn’t Farmers carried them once upon a time. I seem to remember a lipstick with the name Queen…unfortunately, I wasn’t into makeup then.
